Service Description

Reiki (or Usui Reiki Ryoho) is a meditative practice combined with touch. It comes from Japan and has been passed down through generations, being practiced for the last 100 years. It is used for maintaining and restoring the health and wellness of the body, mind, and spirit. My work as a Reiki practitioner during a session consists of a relaxing touch combined with a meditative state of full presence and compassion. I use my hands, placing them on (or a few inches above) your body’s major organs, glands, and joints using a series of specific hand positions. This meditative touch activates your parasympathetic nervous system, allowing for deep relaxation. In this state, you can release energetic blockages and find peace & balance. You learn to know yourself better so that you can draw on and develop your potential, and become the initiator of your own well-being and happiness. Reiki can make you feel different sensations - heat, cold, vibrations, tingling, unusual heaviness, or sometimes no sensation at all. Some thoughts, memories, or insights might come up during the session, but also until a few days after, as you integrate the session and start noticing its effects on a holistic level. It is a gentle and non-invasive practice. All you need to do is lie down and simply welcome what is there. Reiki takes place on a massage table. Please come with comfortable clothing. The session itself will last 60 minutes. We will start with a short talk and tea, you will have some time to integrate after the session, and we will have a chat again before you leave. Therefore, please plan 75 to 90 minutes of your time.
