Self Acceptance by Lena Polovko

The aesthetics of the female body has always fascinated me.As a child, I used to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, exploring the contours of my shoulders, neck, torso, hips, legs, and arms. However, this changed as I grew older. My body became more of a subject for self-critique rather than admiration. I started to feel ashamed and began to hide my body. My exhibition is about emerging from the shadows I created for myself due to social restrictions that I had accepted instead of accepting myself. The pictures represent the visions I have of my own body.
